April '99 Epigrams of the Day

There is no joy in life equal to the joy of putting salt on the tail of an idea.

Men who have ideas and express them are yet at bay in the world.

Love and worship to a woman are one - and they should be to a man.

Loving because I must, giving because I can not keep, doing for the joy of it.

Nudity is never indecent; clothes may be, and lingerie, I am told, often leads to limbo.

No one who loves misunderstands.

Strong people are not so much advertised by their loving friends as by their rabid enemies.

Instead of hitching your wagon to a star, suppose you just get in touch with the good-roads movement.

A word to the wise is unnecessary.

The loafer is usually busy keeping someone else from working!

All I claim for myself is that I am right a part of the time. And that is better than to be dead wrong all the time, like some folks I know.

He has achieved success who has worked well, laughed often and loved much.

I know that a certain attitude of mind and habit of action on my part will add to the peace, happiness and well being of other people.

An eye that can see nature; a heart that can feel nature; and the courage to follow nature.
